Store Manager – Lead Albany MEGA Store

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Store Manager to lead our high‑profile MEGA store in Albany, Auckland. This permanent, full‑time role (45 hrs/week) offers the chance to shape commercial strategy, culture and performance for a multi‑million‑dollar home‑improvement operation.

Key responsibilities

• Lead a large, multi‑department team to deliver exceptional results.
• Set and execute commercial and operational strategies to meet growth and profitability targets.
• Embed a culture of excellence across customer service, safety, merchandising and team engagement.
• Ensure operational efficiency in inventory, people management, financial control and compliance.
• Drive innovation through continuous improvement, partnerships and community engagement.

Required profile

• At least 5 years of senior retail leadership experience in large‑format, high‑volume environments.
• Proven record of delivering strong financial outcomes through commercial insight and operational discipline.
• Exceptional people leadership – developing, motivating and empowering large, diverse teams.
• Deep understanding of New Zealand’s retail environment, employment legislation and customer trends.
• Growth mindset with ability to balance strategic vision and hands‑on leadership.

Required skills

• Operational expertise across merchandising, stock management, forecasting and health‑and‑safety compliance.
• Financial control and budgeting experience.
• Strategic planning and execution.
