Store Manager – Lead Albany MEGA Store

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Store Manager to lead our flagship MEGA store in Albany, Auckland. This permanent, full‑time position (45 hours per week) offers the opportunity to shape commercial strategy, culture, and performance for a multi‑million‑dollar home‑improvement operation.

Key responsibilities

• Lead a large, multi‑department team to achieve growth and profitability targets.
• Develop and execute commercial and operational strategies.
• Drive a culture of excellence in customer service, safety, merchandising and team engagement.
• Oversee inventory, financial control, compliance and people management.
• Champion innovation through continuous improvement, partnerships and community engagement.

Required profile

• At least 5 years senior retail leadership experience in large‑format, high‑volume environments.
• Proven record of delivering strong financial results.
• Exceptional people leadership with ability to develop diverse teams.
• Deep understanding of New Zealand retail, employment legislation and customer trends.
• Growth mindset and ability to balance strategic vision with hands‑on leadership.

Required skills

• Operational expertise in merchandising, stock management and forecasting.
• Health and safety compliance knowledge.
