STMS Traffic Management Supervisor

About the role

We are seeking a Traffic Management Supervisor to lead on‑site traffic operations for major infrastructure projects across the South Island. Based in Timaru, you will coordinate traffic control activities for projects in Christchurch, Marlborough, Dunedin and Invercargill, ensuring safety and compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, organise and supervise traffic management plans for construction sites and national events.
• Deploy and monitor traffic control equipment and signage in accordance with regulatory standards.
• Coordinate with project managers, contractors and local authorities to align traffic solutions with project schedules.
• Maintain accurate records of traffic activities and incident reports.
• Provide on‑site guidance and training to traffic control personnel.

Required profile

• Relevant experience in traffic management or road transport operations.
• Ability to work full‑time on‑site across multiple South Island locations.
• Strong organisational and communication skills.

• Proficiency in using traffic management systems and equipment.
