STEM Research Assistant (Undergraduate) – Remote Contract

About the role

Mercor is seeking undergraduate STEM talent to help evaluate AI‑generated content. This remote contract position focuses on improving the rigor and reasoning of AI model outputs by reviewing and providing feedback on complex domain‑specific material.

Key responsibilities

• Assess the accuracy and depth of AI‑generated content against established scientific principles.
• Review complex subject‑matter for alignment with domain methodologies.
• Deliver clear, structured feedback to AI research teams to enhance training data quality.
• Collaborate with subject‑matter experts to ensure dataset consistency, relevance, and coverage.
• Work independently and asynchronously, meeting deadlines while contributing to model performance improvements.

Required profile

• Currently enrolled in a STEM undergraduate program or holding a STEM undergraduate degree.
• U.S. person residing in a Five Eyes country.
• No background in explosives, pyrotechnics, demolition, or military EOD.

Required skills

• Strong information literacy and ability to evaluate source credibility.
• Comfort with independent, open‑ended research tasks.
