Staff Protocol Engineer

About the role

We are seeking a Staff Protocol Engineer to drive the next generation of scalable blockchain infrastructure and payment‑focused distributed systems. This high‑impact position will work on cutting‑edge initiatives such as proposer‑builder separation, MEV mitigation, parallelized execution, and near‑instant transaction finality.

Key responsibilities

• Lead design and implementation of advanced blockchain protocol improvements.
• Develop scalability solutions, including throughput optimization and high‑performance execution architectures.
• Build and optimize core blockchain components, contributing to Ethereum‑compatible clients and tooling.
• Explore specialized execution pathways for payment‑focused use cases such as stablecoin transactions.
• Collaborate with research, security, DevOps, and engineering teams to safely deploy protocol upgrades.
• Apply AI‑assisted development tools to accelerate prototyping, testing, and performance analysis.
• Mentor engineers and uphold high standards for system design and code quality.

Required profile

• 7+ years of experience in backend, distributed systems, or protocol engineering.
• Strong leadership and hands‑on engineering capabilities.
• Passion for decentralized systems, performance optimization, and large‑scale infrastructure.
