SQL Developer – Intermediate (Fixed‑Term, 18 months)

About the role

We are looking for an Intermediate SQL Developer to join Kiwibank’s Staging Squad, responsible for developing and supporting ETL processes that power key reporting and business operations. This fixed‑term (18 months) role will focus on optimising data quality, performance and helping transition to a modern cloud‑based data platform.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, maintain and optimise SQL‑based ETL processes for reporting and operational data.
• Design and implement reusable, component‑based SQL solutions that break down monolithic business processes.
• Improve data quality and performance across the data platform.
• Collaborate with the team in an Agile/DevOps environment to deliver changes via CI/CD pipelines.
• Support the migration towards a modern cloud‑based data architecture.

Required profile

• 3+ years of experience in SQL development.
• Experience with CI/CD practices and declarative deployment.
• Ability to design and implement modular SQL processes.
• Background working in Agile and/or DevOps teams.
• Degree in Computer Science or equivalent transferable experience.
