Specialty Doctor – Oral Medicine (Full‑time, Edinburgh)

About the role

The NHS Lothian is recruiting a full‑time Specialty Doctor in Oral Medicine to join the Edinburgh Dental Institute. The post works 10 programmed activities per week, Monday to Friday, delivering a tier‑ed, consultant‑led Oral Medicine service.

Key responsibilities

• Provide clinical assessment and management of patients with oral medicine conditions.
• Contribute to the delivery of a tiered service under the supervision of the Clinical Director and Professional Lead.
• Collaborate with the Oral Medicine team and wider Dental Institute staff.
• Maintain accurate patient records and adhere to NHS clinical governance standards.

Required profile

• Full registration with the General Dental Council (GDC).
• At least four years of full‑time postgraduate dental training, or equivalent experience, with demonstrable competence in Oral Medicine.
• Eligibility to work in the United Kingdom.
