About the role
Russell McVeagh is seeking a Solicitor (or Senior Solicitor) to join its leading Construction and Projects team in Auckland. The successful candidate will work directly with senior lawyers Anna Crosbie and Brian Clayton, contributing to a multi‑disciplinary infrastructure practice that handles projects of national significance.
Key responsibilities
- Provide legal advice to infrastructure providers, developers and financiers across sectors such as renewable energy, water, transport, social infrastructure, commercial development and industrial automation.
- Collaborate with other practice groups to deliver complex construction and project transactions.
- Support senior team members in drafting, negotiating and reviewing contracts, project documentation and regulatory filings.
- Assist in managing client relationships and ensuring compliance with New Zealand law.
Required profile
- Qualified lawyer with 3–5 years of experience in construction and projects law.
- Strong academic record.
- Demonstrated interest in the infrastructure and construction sectors.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to build connections and work collaboratively within a team.
