Software Specialist – Site Reliability Engineer

About the role

ASB is looking for a Software Specialist – SRE to join its Core Tribe. You will help keep the bank’s core systems reliable, secure and scalable while supporting the Trade Banking squad that serves importers and exporters.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain Windows Server, MSSQL and MQ services that underpin banking applications.
• Ensure services meet agreed availability targets and proactively manage reliability risks.
• Support SaaS platform upgrades and build reusable components for modern engineering practices.
• Participate in incident response, conduct post‑incident reviews and track corrective actions.
• Collaborate across squads, taking ownership of work that delivers business outcomes.

Required profile

• Proactive problem‑solver with strong technical leadership and communication skills.
• Comfortable gathering requirements, designing pragmatic solutions and presenting technical concepts to diverse audiences.

Required skills

• Server administration on Windows and Linux (certificate renewal, patching, DNS maintenance).
• Experience with Windows Server, MSSQL, MQ services.
• Ability to create Kibana dashboards and alerts for health monitoring.
• Hands‑on experience with GHES, Azure, Octopus Deploy and CI/CD pipelines.
• Proficiency in Git and TFS source control.
• Knowledge of automation and orchestration tools for build, release and configuration management.
