Software Engineer – Mobile iOS (Fixed-Term)

About the role

This is a hands-on, fixed-term position (12 months) designing, building and maintaining native iOS applications for a New Zealand-based organisation. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to integrate mobile apps with backend services, ensure security and performance, and support the applications in production.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, test and deploy iOS applications that meet business goals and user needs.
• Integrate mobile apps with backend systems and third-party services using RESTful APIs.
• Participate in project planning, technical design and solution delivery.
• Implement iOS security best practices, maintain data integrity and remediate vulnerabilities.
• Support and improve CI/CD pipelines for mobile app releases.
• Monitor app performance, crash reports and analytics to ensure stability.
• Participate in incident response, troubleshooting and on-call support (rotational, 1 week every 4 weeks).

Required profile

• 3–5 years of professional software development experience, including at least 3 years in iOS development.
• Proven experience delivering production-grade iOS applications.
• Strong understanding of API integration and handling edge cases.
