Software Engineer (C#/.NET & React)

About the role

You will play a central role in delivering high‑quality software to Xero’s partners, building robust, scalable applications that automate manual processes and accelerate value delivery across our products.

Key responsibilities

• Contribute to sprint work and develop features using .NET (C#) and React.
• Join the on‑call roster, troubleshoot production incidents and ensure platform resilience.
• Modernise legacy codebases with pattern‑based architecture, micro‑frontend events and accelerators.
• Collaborate with engineering productivity tools, set up automated testing and leverage AI assistants such as GitHub Copilot.
• Make data‑driven decisions to release early improvements and maintain a quality‑first experience.

Required profile

• Strong experience in software engineering with C#/.NET and React.
• Ability to work independently, research solutions and present clear technical options.
• Comfort using AI development tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot, Cloud Code, Windsurf).
• Solid foundation in full‑stack debugging and cloud infrastructure support.
• Collaborative communication style and a quality‑first mindset with test‑driven, trunk‑based development practices.
