Site Engineer / Project Engineer

About the role

This position offers the chance to work on a diverse portfolio of civil infrastructure projects across New Zealand, including water systems, marine works, treatment plants and general construction. You will join a collaborative team delivering technically challenging, high‑profile projects.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in planning, coordinating and delivering civil infrastructure projects.
• Monitor construction activities to ensure compliance with specifications, safety standards and quality requirements.
• Coordinate with project managers, site teams, subcontractors, suppliers and stakeholders.
• Prepare and maintain project documentation, reports and construction records.
• Manage project schedules, resources and budgets.
• Identify and resolve construction and engineering issues promptly.
• Ensure Quality Assurance processes and project standards are consistently met.
• Foster strong communication and collaboration across project teams and clients.

Required profile

• Minimum of 2 years post‑graduate experience in civil infrastructure.
• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
• Experience as a Site Engineer or Project Engineer on civil, construction, mechanical or infrastructure projects.
• Exposure to water, three‑waters, treatment plants, reservoirs, marine works, structures or general civil construction is highly desirable.
• Strong understanding of construction methodologies, engineering principles and project delivery.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder‑management skills.
• Proactive problem‑solving approach and ability to work within multidisciplinary teams.
