About the role
Join one of New Zealand’s largest pastoral farms as a Shepherd General. Working closely with the stock and farm managers, you will help maintain a thriving sheep and beef operation while developing your skills in a supportive environment.
Key responsibilities
- Livestock management and stock work
- General farm maintenance and fencing
- Dog handling and working with 3‑6 dogs across diverse hill‑country terrain
- Accurate record keeping and use of farm technology
Required profile
- Passion for farming and animal welfare
- Organised, reliable and self‑motivated
- Clear communicator and effective team player
- Valid restricted or full driver licence
Required skills
- Experience handling working dogs (3‑6 preferred)
- Ability to maintain accurate records
- Comfort with basic farm technology or willingness to learn
