Service Technician III – Material Handling Systems

About the role

Vanderlande is seeking a Service Technician III to join its team at the Asda site in Warrington. You will be responsible for maintaining and repairing material handling equipment, ensuring high availability, safety, and performance in line with service level agreements.

Key responsibilities

• Perform planned preventative, corrective and reactive maintenance on all equipment.
• Respond rapidly to breakdowns and execute effective corrective actions.
• Interface professionally with the customer via face‑to‑face, phone, email or radio.
• Provide coverage for other technicians and shifts as needed.
• Share knowledge and ensure thorough hand‑over of information.
• Carry out routine checks, cleaning, lubrication and adjustments.
• Identify root causes and implement permanent solutions.
• Maintain compliance with health & safety regulations and company policies.

Required profile

• Strong electrical and mechanical multi‑skilling.
• Good communication abilities and a methodical approach.
• Proven problem‑solving skills and a focus on continuous improvement.
• Ability to work safely and keep work areas tidy.

Required skills

• Electrical & Mechanical maintenance
• PLC control systems (desirable)
• Automated material handling systems
• ASRS (Automated Storage and Retrieval Systems) experience beneficial
