Service Technician – Harapaki Wind Farm

About the role
The position is based at the Harapaki Wind Farm in New Zealand. The successful candidate must live within a one‑hour drive of the site and will work as a Service Technician, performing both scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on wind turbines and associated equipment to keep the farm operating at high availability.
Key responsibilities
- Inspect, maintain and repair wind turbine towers and components.
- Diagnose and fix mechanical, hydraulic and electrical systems, including pitch control, speed control and converters.
- Manage tools and spare‑parts inventory for installations and repairs.
- Replace worn or faulty components and ensure accurate record‑keeping and reporting.
- Adhere to SGRE safety standards and contribute to a safe working environment.
Required profile
- Electrical trade qualification registered in New Zealand.
- Unrestricted NZ driver’s licence.
- Experience conducting risk assessments and preparing Safe Work Method Statements.
- Strong safety and environmental awareness; comfortable working at heights.
- Physically fit and skilled in using tensioning and bolt‑torquing tools.
- Flexibility for on‑call work and ability to work in small teams under varying wind conditions.
