Senior/Staff Platform Engineer

About the role

UpGuard is looking for a senior‑level Platform Engineer to shape and own the foundational systems that power its development workflows. You will work at the heart of a fast‑growing cyber risk management platform, defining standards, building reliable infrastructure, and improving the developer experience across product teams.

Key responsibilities

• Champion a “platform as a product” mindset, gathering feedback from engineering teams and iterating on the developer experience.
• Design, build and maintain scalable, reliable infrastructure on Google Cloud to support product growth.
• Collaborate with developers to streamline local and CI/CD workflows and promote platform best practices.
• Evolve the observability stack, ensuring teams have adequate monitoring, logging and alerting.
• Implement secure‑by‑default patterns for networking, secrets management, IAM and workload isolation.
• Drive adoption of Infrastructure as Code and GitOps to achieve consistent, auditable infrastructure changes.

Required profile

• Proven experience building and operating platform services in a fast‑growing SaaS environment.
• Strong ownership mindset with the ability to define standards and roadmaps for internal platforms.
• Excellent collaboration skills to work closely with product, engineering and security teams.

• Infrastructure as Code tools – Terraform or OpenTofu.
• Google Cloud Platform services.
• CI/CD pipeline tooling and automation.
