Senior Solutions Designer

About the role

Automation Associates is seeking a Senior Solutions Designer to shape and communicate technology environments for commercial spaces across New Zealand. In this client‑facing role you will translate complex business requirements into clear, commercially viable designs and help clients visualise solutions before implementation.

Key responsibilities

• Engage with clients, consultants and internal teams to capture business and technology needs.
• Lead discovery meetings, consultations and solution workshops.
• Convert requirements into detailed design documentation, schematics, presentations and technical specifications.
• Support sales teams with technical input during solution development.
• Collaborate with architects, contractors, integration partners and technology vendors.
• Coordinate with Building Management Systems (BMS) and other building services where required.
• Manage design deliverables across multiple concurrent projects.
• Share knowledge and contribute to continuous improvement of design processes.

Required profile

• Proven experience designing commercial AV, ICT or integrated technology solutions.
• Strong technical design capability with high attention to detail.
• Ability to understand client requirements and develop practical, commercially viable solutions.
• Confidence presenting to clients, consultants and internal stakeholders.
• Excellent problem‑solving skills and commercial awareness.
• Collaborative mindset with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
