Senior Solicitor / Senior Associate – Corporate Advisory

About the role

Russell McVeagh is seeking a mid‑to‑senior level corporate lawyer to join its Corporate Advisory team in Wellington (or Auckland). The role offers exposure to a broad range of corporate and commercial matters, including M&A, complex technology contracts, governance and advisory work across energy, infrastructure, technology and social sectors.

Key responsibilities

• Provide general corporate and commercial advisory to public and private sector clients.
• Draft, negotiate and review commercial contracts, including technology agreements.
• Support M&A transactions and related due diligence.
• Advise on corporate governance and regulatory matters.
• Collaborate with team members to deliver responsive and creative client solutions.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years of corporate or commercial legal experience.
• Strong attention to detail and problem‑solving abilities.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Demonstrated client service orientation.
• Strong academic record and a willingness to learn and develop.

Required skills

• Experience in contract drafting and negotiation.
