Senior Software Engineer – Funds Technology

About the role

Join ANZ’s Funds Technology team as a Senior Software Engineer, working on the platforms that support the bank’s investment and asset‑management services. You will help shape, design and deliver robust, scalable solutions for Discretionary Investment Management Services and advisory channels.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and enhance funds platforms to meet evolving business and technical requirements.
• Lead technical decisions, improving performance, resilience and scalability of the systems.
• Provide production support, troubleshoot complex issues and participate in out‑of‑hours on‑call rotations when needed.
• Embed strong engineering practices, focusing on risk management, controls and quality in a regulated environment.
• Contribute to technical governance, documentation and continuous improvement while mentoring team members.

Required profile

• Solid engineering foundation with experience across design, delivery and support.
• Confidence working with diverse stakeholders, including external vendors.
• Strong understanding of system design, troubleshooting and production support.
• Ability to influence technical direction and mentor others.

Required skills

• Java with Spring Boot or .NET
• Web or micro‑services based application development
• CI/CD pipelines and source control (Git)
• Cloud platforms, containers and Kubernetes
• Scripting/automation (PowerShell, Python)
• SQL or other relational databases
• Knowledge of infrastructure, networking and security concepts
• Frontend experience (e.g., React)
