Senior React Native Developer – Relocate to Auckland

About the role

This is a permanent, full‑time senior mobile developer position based in Auckland, designed for candidates willing to relocate from Wellington. You will co‑lead the mobile engineering team, overseeing the complete lifecycle of consumer‑facing applications that serve millions of New Zealanders.

Key responsibilities

• Lead development using React Native, TypeScript and Expo, delivering high‑quality code for iOS and Android.
• Own app performance, stability and release quality from architecture to production deployment.
• Define mobile engineering standards, testing methodologies, accessibility guidelines and design‑system integration.
• Collaborate with product, design, web and platform teams to deliver end‑to‑end features.
• Integrate AI‑based tooling where appropriate, ensuring it accelerates development without compromising code quality.

Required profile

• Valid New Zealand work rights.
• Extensive experience managing the full mobile development lifecycle, from architecture decisions to live production releases.
• Advanced TypeScript proficiency and solid understanding of native iOS and Android environments.
• Experience with Expo is highly advantageous.
• Calm, collaborative leadership style with a focus on peer mentorship.
