Senior Quality Engineer – Mobile Platform Test Lead

About the role

As a Senior Quality Engineer (Test Lead) in the goMoney Platforms team, you will combine hands‑on testing expertise with leadership to ensure the reliability and safety of ANZ's mobile banking platform. This permanent, full‑time role is based in Wellington and involves both deep manual exploratory testing and automation work.

Key responsibilities

• Act as Test Lead for platform initiatives while remaining hands‑on in test execution.
• Perform extensive manual and exploratory testing on mobile applications, especially for high‑risk changes.
• Lead and contribute to automation development and maintenance using mobile frameworks such as XCUI and Espresso.
• Define and execute test strategies covering functional and non‑functional testing.
• Partner with developers, product owners, and delivery teams to identify quality risks early.
• Champion shift‑left testing and automation‑first design practices.
• Mentor Quality Engineers and developers through collaboration, reviews, and pairing.
• Communicate quality status, risks, and trade‑offs to stakeholders and support production issue investigations.

Required profile

• Senior‑level hands‑on Test Lead with a passion for doing the work, not just defining processes.
• Extensive experience in software testing, particularly mobile applications.
• Strong ability to work collaboratively across cross‑functional teams.
• Excellent communication skills for reporting quality status and risks.
