Senior Propulsion Components Engineer

About the role

Rocket Lab is seeking a Senior Propulsion Components Engineer to lead the end‑to‑end development of fluid system components for spacecraft propulsion systems. The role blends technical leadership with project management, guiding concepts from initial design through flight operation.

Key responsibilities

• Own development of new or existing propulsion components, acting as technical lead.
• Create conceptual and detailed CAD designs, perform calculations, analysis, and system design.
• Prototype and conduct development testing of designs.
• Support procurement, production, and integration of hardware.
• Mentor junior engineers and coordinate with cross‑functional stakeholders.
• Manage schedules and communicate progress to internal teams.

Required profile

• Proven experience in spacecraft propulsion component development.
• Hands‑on expertise with design, qualification, and flight hardware.
• Ability to work closely with GNC, manufacturing, flight software, thermal, and structures teams.
• Strong project leadership and stakeholder communication skills.
