Senior Project Manager – Industrial Automation

About the role

This senior leadership position is based in Auckland and will drive a critical industrial automation project valued at over $50 million. The role is ideal for a commercially‑focused senior project manager with a proven track record delivering large‑scale electro‑mechanical automation solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Act as Deputy Project Director, balancing commercial objectives with technical execution.
• Own the company’s scope within a multi‑partner consortium and collaborate as an equal partner with the consortium’s Project Director.
• Manage complex stakeholder relationships including clients, builders, JV partners and consultants.
• Lead and coordinate the internal project team, ensuring safety performance, HR compliance, financial P&L adherence and overall project delivery.

Required profile

• Natural leader with strong adaptability and relationship‑building skills.
• Extensive experience delivering complex industrial automation projects (A$50 m+) of electro‑mechanical nature.
• Proven ability to lead technical teams, manage budgets, and handle contractual and commercial issues.
• Demonstrated negotiation and conflict‑management capabilities.
