Senior Project Manager – 3 Waters Infrastructure

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to lead the delivery of a diverse portfolio of 3 Waters and infrastructure resilience projects in Wellington. You will manage the full project lifecycle, from early feasibility studies through to final handover, ensuring projects meet technical, budgetary and stakeholder expectations.

Key responsibilities

• Lead delivery of treatment plants, stormwater reticulation, bulk supply pipelines, pumping stations, reservoirs, mains renewals and associated networks.
• Oversee project planning, risk management, budgeting and reporting across all stages.
• Engage with complex stakeholder groups, maintain clear communication and provide regular progress updates.
• Issue change instructions, facilitate meetings and ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
• Collaborate with a high‑performing local team and leverage support from a national organisation.

Required profile

• Approximately 8+ years post‑graduate experience in civil engineering, project delivery or construction management.
• Proven track record delivering large‑scale infrastructure projects in complex stakeholder environments.
• Experience as a consultant or client‑side Project Manager is desirable.
• Strong leadership and strategic oversight abilities combined with hands‑on execution skills.
