Senior Project Accountant

About the role

The Commercial & Business Performance team is seeking a Senior Project Accountant on a 9‑month fixed‑term contract. Reporting to the Project Accountant Team Lead in New Zealand, you will act as a key interface between Finance and Project teams, delivering financial insight across the full project lifecycle.

Key responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive financial analysis and reporting for a portfolio of projects.
• Manage project controls, working capital, revenue recognition and audit processes.
• Challenge assumptions, identify risks and opportunities, and deliver commercially sound insights.
• Champion best practice and embed a high standard of financial discipline across projects.
• Build trusted relationships with internal stakeholders, clients and external partners.

Required profile

• 3–5 years of accounting experience, including at least 2 years in a project accounting environment.
• Strong understanding of project structures, financial controls, reporting and revenue recognition.
• Commercial business‑partnering mindset with confidence to ask questions and challenge thinking.
• Collaborative team player who bridges Finance and Project teams.

Required skills

• Oracle (desirable but not essential).
