Senior Professional Practice Fellow – Dentistry

About the role
The University of Otago Faculty of Dentistry is seeking a Senior Professional Practice Fellow to support undergraduate dental education and deliver clinical services. This position combines teaching, assessment, and patient‑care responsibilities across both student clinics and staff clinics.
Key responsibilities
- Provide clinical teaching and tutoring for undergraduate dental students.
- Apply expert clinical knowledge to advance the department’s academic goals.
- Prepare, assess, and administer teaching materials and examinations.
- Manage patient care pathways and referrals within the teaching hospital.
Required profile
- Dental degree with registration or eligibility for full registration with the Dental Council of New Zealand.
- Ability to work effectively with diverse students and staff.
- Commitment to the principles of the Treaty of Waitangi and the university’s Māori Strategic Framework.
- Practising certificate and professional indemnity in place before starting.
