Senior / Principal Analytics Consultant

About the role

Acumen BI is seeking an experienced Analytics Consultant to lead complex data initiatives for leading New Zealand organisations. You will work across health, government, financial services and commercial sectors, delivering cloud migrations, analytics operations, dashboards and AI‑driven solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Lead end‑to‑end analytics platform migrations to cloud environments, including planning, execution and client enablement.
• Design and implement analytics operations functions, covering technology, processes, governance and team structure.
• Develop interactive dashboards and reports that translate complex data into actionable business insights.
• Apply AI and machine learning tools to solve real‑world business problems while ensuring appropriate governance.
• Influence senior stakeholders, communicate technical concepts to non‑technical audiences and mentor junior team members.

Required profile

• Proven experience delivering analytics projects at senior or principal level.
• Strong client‑facing skills with the ability to influence decisions at senior organisational levels.
• Demonstrated ability to work autonomously, define frameworks and drive improvement across programmes.
• Passion for continuous learning and sharing knowledge within the practice.

Required skills

• Extensive hands‑on experience with Qlik or Power BI (or comparable modern analytics tools).
• Experience with cloud platforms and analytics migrations.
• Knowledge of machine learning, AI tooling and automation.
• Ability to design and build scalable analytical solutions.
