Senior People & Capability Advisor

About the role

Watercare is expanding its People team and seeks a senior professional to provide day‑to‑day Employment Relations (ER) support while leading strategic People and Capability projects. This generalist role blends advisory work with project delivery, contributing to the implementation of People pillars across the organisation.

Key responsibilities

• Support business leaders and Business Partners with ER cases and advice.
• Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of employment legislation and act as the subject‑matter expert.
• Produce insightful People metrics reports and use data to drive business improvement.
• Contribute to the broader Employment and Industrial Relations strategy.
• Manage the People calendar, operational trackers, and policy updates.
• Develop and deliver people‑focused solutions and projects that meet evolving business needs.
• Help shape and execute a People strategy aligned with the company plan.

Required profile

• Strong interpersonal and negotiation skills with a broad stakeholder base.
• Deep expertise in Employment Relations and a proven track record as a legislative SME.
• Future‑focused mindset with the ability to coach people leaders.
• Flexibility to switch between advisory duties and project work.

Required skills

• Previous experience in an HR Advisory, in‑house legal or ER Lead role.
• Demonstrated experience providing ER support to senior stakeholders.
• In‑depth knowledge of employment legislation and the full employee life‑cycle.
