Senior PCB Designer – Energy Technology

About the role

Enphase Energy is seeking a Senior PCB Designer to join its global ECAD team in New Zealand. You will be responsible for creating high‑quality printed‑circuit‑board layouts that meet the demanding specifications of our solar, battery and EV‑charging products.

Key responsibilities

• Design PCBs from schematic import through to production release, following technical specifications.
• Create new layouts and modify existing designs, ensuring compliance with IEC EMC/EMI, surge, EFT, safety and reliability standards.
• Maintain and update PCB design documentation and participate in design reviews, inspections and testing.
• Define design criteria for emerging technologies, verify existing designs and recommend manufacturing improvements.
• Identify technical risks, propose mitigation plans and mentor junior designers on best practices.
• Develop PCB stack‑ups tailored to specific applications and investigate new technologies that could impact future designs.

Required profile

• 5+ years of PCB design experience.
• Proficiency with Cadence Allegro and Orcad; fluent in at least one ECAD tool (e.g., Altium).
• Experience designing complex, high‑power, high‑speed boards (4‑6 layers).
• Strong understanding of EMC performance and manufacturing constraints for low‑cost, high‑volume production.
• IPC Designer Certification (CID/CID+) preferred and familiarity with UL/IEC safety standards.
