Senior Network Engineer

About the role

A leading, innovative organisation operating across New Zealand, focused on secure enterprise network solutions, is looking for a Senior Network Engineer. The role involves managing and optimising large-scale enterprise and external networks, leading troubleshooting, collaborating with diverse teams and delivering critical network solutions. It reports directly to senior technical management and coordinates with government and vendor stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

• Design, build and maintain IPSec VPN and network solutions
• Manage datacentre switching and network fabric
• Lead complex incident resolution across environments
• Partner with teams to resolve connectivity issues
• Support vendors and government partners on network projects

Required profile

• Proven experience with large enterprise networks and VPN support
• Extensive troubleshooting and network design skills
• Excellent stakeholder engagement and team leadership
• Ability to work in dispersed, high-security environments
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills
• Eligibility to obtain and maintain the required security clearance, demonstrated by at least 15 years of continuous residency, employment and/or study history within a Five Eyes country (New Zealand, Australia, the United Kingdom, the United States or Canada)
• Right to work in New Zealand; only people with the right to work may apply

Required skills

• Cisco CCNA/CCNP and Juniper JNCIA/JNCIP certifications (essential)
• BGP, OSPF and cloud integration knowledge
• Automation tools such as Ansible and Git
• Network security and firewall management background
