Senior Mechanical Engineer – Water Infrastructure

About the role

Pattle Delamore Partners is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to join its Water Infrastructure team. You will lead technical delivery on water and wastewater projects, work independently, and mentor junior engineers while supporting project planning and client relationships.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver water and wastewater infrastructure projects from concept to completion.
• Prepare and review design calculations, reports and technical specifications using first‑principles.
• Lead or contribute to construction monitoring and on‑site activities.
• Provide guidance, review work and mentor junior engineers.
• Ensure all deliverables meet relevant standards, PDP quality processes and health‑and‑safety requirements.
• Manage own workstreams to meet agreed timeframes and budgets.
• Build and maintain relationships with internal teams and clients.

Required profile

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering from a recognised university.
• 5–10 years of mechanical design experience, preferably in water or infrastructure projects.
• Proven ability to work independently and lead components of multidisciplinary projects.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills and attention to detail.
• Commitment to health and safety practice.
