About the role

Rocket Lab is seeking a Senior Manufacturing Engineer specialized in Avionics to join the production team for its Electron and upcoming Neutron rockets. This night‑shift, four‑day‑week position places you at the heart of transitioning cutting‑edge hardware from research to full‑scale manufacturing.

Key responsibilities

• Own critical projects and optimise processes for production and testing.
• Resolve technical issues across avionics, electrical, mechanical and software domains.
• Support the prototype‑to‑production transition of Neutron hardware, ensuring rigorous testing and compliance.
• Investigate and close non‑conformances with cross‑functional teams.
• Collaborate closely with production staff, designers and engineers from multiple disciplines.
• Build strong relationships with technicians and subject‑matter experts to streamline operations.
• Coordinate mechanical and avionics teams to address compatibility challenges.
• Develop and implement testing‑process improvements and manage overflow tasks.
• Participate daily in production and testing activities to guarantee hardware reliability for launch.

Required profile

• Proven experience in manufacturing engineering within aerospace or avionics.
• Hands‑on background with hardware production, testing and non‑conformance resolution.
• Ability to work night‑shift schedules and a four‑day work week.
• Strong interdisciplinary problem‑solving skills.
• Effective collaboration with cross‑functional teams.
