Senior Manager – Assurance (Audit) – Wellington

About the role

PwC is looking for an experienced auditor to join its Assurance team in Wellington at Senior Manager level. You will lead external audit engagements for a diverse portfolio of public and private sector clients, helping to build public trust and deliver high‑quality financial statements.

Key responsibilities

• Take senior ownership of statutory audit engagements from planning through final review, ensuring delivery quality and risk management.
• Develop and maintain trusted relationships with senior client stakeholders, providing practical, value‑adding insights.
• Lead, coach and develop high‑performing audit teams, fostering a culture of excellence.
• Leverage PwC’s audit methodology and advanced technology to drive innovation and continuous improvement.

Required profile

• Significant experience in external audit, preferably across both public and private sectors.
• Strong understanding of auditing standards and regulatory requirements.
• Proven ability to manage complex client engagements and mentor junior staff.
