Senior Financial Controller

About the role

Manuka AI is seeking a Senior Financial Controller to provide financial leadership for its growing ANZ operations. This senior, hands‑on position will own cash‑flow visibility, month‑end close, board reporting and the overall control environment across multiple entities.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain short‑ and medium‑term cash‑flow forecasts; report weekly to the CEO.
• Compile the monthly Board Pack, including profit & loss, balance sheet, cash flow, debtor/creditor analysis and project performance.
• Execute a tight month‑end close, reviewing bookkeeping, bank reconciliations, payroll journals, accruals and inter‑company balances.
• Manage GST, BAS, PAYG, superannuation, KiwiSaver and other payroll tax obligations in both Australia and New Zealand.
• Track project budgets, profitability and forecast variance; flag margin leakage and billing delays.
• Oversee payroll processing, approve payroll runs and monitor related liabilities.
• Lead budgeting, monthly forecasting and scenario analysis to support commercial decisions.

Required profile

• Significant experience as a Financial Controller, Finance Manager or Senior Accountant, preferably in professional services or consulting.
• Proven ability to manage multi‑entity structures and cross‑border finance operations.
• Strong analytical mindset with the capacity to identify risks early and communicate insights to senior leadership.
