Senior Failure Analysis Engineer

About the role

We are looking for a Senior Failure Analysis Engineer to join Halter’s Failure Analysis team. You will investigate failed hardware from our cattle‑collar and tower products, both in the field and in the lab, to identify root causes and improve long‑term reliability.

Key responsibilities

• Debug and diagnose failed collars and tower components, performing detailed root‑cause analysis.
• Collaborate with hardware, firmware, production, supplier quality and networking teams to resolve failure modes.
• Develop and refine processes that increase diagnostic accuracy and reduce no‑fault‑found incidents.
• Mentor junior engineers, sharing knowledge and best practices in failure analysis.
• Support recruitment efforts to build a high‑performing reliability team.

Required profile

• Strong analytical mindset with a methodical, first‑principles approach to problem solving.
• Hands‑on experience with complex electromechanical devices.
• Ability to work independently and communicate findings to cross‑functional teams.
• Experience guiding and developing junior engineering talent.
