Senior Engineer

About the role

Join Civix’s high‑performing civil engineering team in Christchurch, working on a variety of civil infrastructure, land development and multidisciplinary projects from concept through to delivery. You will be at the core of the engineering team, providing technical leadership, mentoring junior staff, and coordinating stakeholders while collaborating closely with clients and internal specialists.

Key responsibilities

• Provide strong technical leadership and problem‑solving to deliver complex civil infrastructure projects.
• Lead and contribute to civil infrastructure and land development projects across multiple sectors.
• Mentor and support a team of engineers, fostering technical excellence and professional growth.
• Engage with clients and external stakeholders, building trusted relationships and representing Civix professionally.
• Utilise Civil 3D for quality assurance, compliance reviews, and occasional hands‑on design input.

Required profile

• 8+ years of experience with a degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
• Proven track record delivering complex civil infrastructure projects in New Zealand.
• Strong Civil 3D design capability with confidence in reviewing and assuring technical outputs.
• Demonstrated experience leading or mentoring engineers.
• Clear, confident communication skills and ability to engage effectively with clients and stakeholders.
• High personal standards, strong accountability, and pride in delivering quality outcomes.
