Senior Engineer – Drinking Water Networks

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Engineer to lead investigations and optimise drinking water distribution across the Wellington Region. This full-time role (40 hours per week) is based in our Petone office, close to the train station, cafés and the beach, and offers technical support from concept through to commissioning.

Key responsibilities

• Lead challenging and complex investigations across drinking water networks and systems.
• Provide technical support from concept design to commissioning.
• Participate in tactical planning for the region’s drinking water network.
• Mentor and develop graduate and intermediate engineers.
• Support the capital programme and investment planning.

Required profile

• Relevant tertiary qualification such as a Bachelor of Engineering (preferably Civil Engineering); CPEng highly desired.
• Strong technical knowledge of drinking water networks.
• Sharp investigative skills with a solutions focus.
• Excellent relationship‑management abilities.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
