Senior Engineer, Component Engineering

About the role

Enphase Energy is seeking a Senior Component Engineer to join its Research and Development Centre in Wigram, Christchurch. The role focuses on identifying, evaluating, and qualifying components for Enphase’s solar, battery, and EV‑charging products.

Key responsibilities

• Identify and evaluate appropriate components for product designs.
• Collaborate with suppliers, purchasing, and product development engineers from part selection through approval.
• Create and maintain parametric data to support component selection.
• Investigate alternate component technologies and suppliers to reduce cost while improving quality and reliability.
• Support change management by reviewing and approving PCN, ECR, MCO, and ECO changes in the Arena PLM system.

Required profile

• Detail‑oriented and accurate with strong integrity.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively in cross‑functional teams.
• Degree in Electrical & Electronic Engineering or equivalent.
• At least 5 years of post‑university experience in electrical engineering.
