Senior DevOps Engineer

Join Cuscal Paymark to build the next generation of payment platforms in New Zealand. As a Senior DevOps Engineer you will design, automate and operate a highly resilient AWS‑based cloud environment that powers critical payment services, digital wallets and modern payment experiences.

Key responsibilities

• Design, build and manage secure, highly available AWS infrastructure.
• Develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code using Terraform and modern automation practices.
• Create and enhance CI/CD pipelines, deployment automation and platform tooling.
• Support test environments and drive platform readiness through all delivery stages.
• Implement monitoring, logging, alerting and observability across the platform.
• Strengthen cloud security controls, resilience, disaster recovery and operational processes.
• Collaborate with software engineers to improve application deployment, performance and reliability.
• Troubleshoot complex infrastructure issues in development, testing and production.
• Contribute to engineering standards, cloud architecture decisions and DevOps best practices.

Required profile

• Extensive hands‑on experience in DevOps, SRE, Infrastructure or Platform Engineering.
• Deep expertise with AWS, including networking, compute, storage, security, IAM, observability and disaster recovery.
• Proven ability to design, build and operate production‑scale AWS environments.
• Strong experience with Infrastructure as Code, preferably Terraform.
• Demonstrated success building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines and release automation.
• Experience implementing monitoring, logging, alerting and operational support for business‑critical systems.
• Solid understanding of cloud security, platform hardening, secrets management and operational resilience.
• Excellent troubleshooting and problem‑solving skills in complex technical environments.
