Senior Design Engineer – Infrastructure Projects

About the role

ACCIONA is seeking a Senior Design Engineer to lead the design of a complex transport infrastructure project in New Zealand. Reporting to the Engineering Manager, you will coordinate internal and external design resources, ensure quality control, and integrate design requirements with construction and procurement teams.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and manage the design program schedule.
• Run critical path reviews and adjust plans as needed.
• Facilitate risk workshops with project teams.
• Oversee consultant agreements, performance, and commercial risk.
• Coordinate design approvals across multiple disciplines.
• Drive constructability and value‑engineering reviews.

Required profile

• Engineering degree in Civil, Structural, Mechanical or Electrical engineering.
• Proven experience in engineering design for infrastructure delivery.
• Strong multidisciplinary teamwork and communication abilities.
• Solid understanding of design standards and delivery processes.

Required skills

• Technical drawing production.
• Specification review.
• Design program scheduling.
• Infrastructure design (civil, structural, mechanical, electrical).
