Senior Consultant – Private Tax

About the role

EY is seeking a Senior Consultant to join its Private Clients team in Christchurch. The role involves delivering accounting, tax and advisory services to a diverse portfolio of businesses, high‑net‑worth individuals and household names, both locally and internationally.

Key responsibilities

• Provide high‑quality accounting, tax and advisory services across a range of engagements.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with clients and internal stakeholders.
• Support and mentor junior team members, contributing to their development.
• Apply commercial and technical insight to deliver practical, client‑focused solutions.

Required profile

• Relevant degree in Accounting and CA ANZ or CPA qualification (completed or in progress).
• Experience in financial reporting and New Zealand tax, with awareness of market trends.
• Strong relationship‑management abilities and effective teamwork.
• Excellent communication skills.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel.
• Experience using PowerBI.
• Familiarity with Xero accounting software.
