Senior Civil Engineer – Energy & Industrial Projects

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Civil Engineer to lead and expand our civil and structural capability in Christchurch, focusing on energy, industrial, manufacturing and water projects.

Key responsibilities

• Lead delivery of civil design packages for industrial, manufacturing, water and energy projects.
• Build and maintain client relationships across the South Island.
• Mentor and support developing engineers as the team grows.
• Lead and review earthworks, stormwater, drainage and site development designs.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams nationally and globally.
• Support business development and market growth initiatives.
• Grow and develop the Christchurch civil capability from concept through construction.

Required profile

• 8+ years of civil engineering experience.
• Strong civil design capability across earthworks, drainage and site development.
• Experience delivering projects in industrial, manufacturing, energy or water sectors.
• Proven ability to build relationships with clients, contractors and stakeholders.
• Leadership, mentoring or team‑growth experience.
• Commercial awareness and practical project judgement.
• Chartered Professional Engineer status or progress toward chartership.
• Motivation to grow both a team and a business.
