Senior Banking Consultant – Personal Banking

About the role

We are looking for a Senior Banking Consultant who will act as a trusted personal banker for our customers in Auckland. The role focuses on guiding clients through major financial decisions such as home‑loan applications, insurance and investment choices, helping them achieve key life milestones.

Key responsibilities

• Provide a full suite of banking services, including home loans, insurance and everyday banking products.
• Deliver clear, personalised advice on lending, insurance and investment options.
• Serve as the go‑to expert in the branch for complex home‑loan queries.
• Mentor and coach junior team members, supporting their development.
• Identify and attract new customers through local networking and referrals.
• Build and maintain strong relationships within the community.

Required profile

• Strong communication skills with the ability to put customers at ease.
• Confidence discussing financial products in a clear, meaningful way.
• Experience in a lending or personal banking role.
• Commitment to helping customers achieve their financial goals.
• Organised, proactive and able to manage multiple tasks.
• Positive attitude and willingness to continue learning.

Required skills

• Knowledge of home‑loan products and lending processes.
• Understanding of insurance and investment basics.
