Senior Backend Engineer

About the role
The Senior Backend Engineer will design, build and evolve Generate’s backend and integration platforms. This hands‑on role focuses on creating secure, scalable backend services, APIs and cloud‑native applications using modern AWS technologies.
Key responsibilities
- Design, develop and maintain secure, high‑performance backend services and API‑first solutions.
- Build cloud‑native applications on AWS and implement integration services between internal and external platforms.
- Implement and improve scalable cloud infrastructure on AWS using Terraform and/or Pulumi.
- Enhance platform reliability, observability, resilience and security, and monitor performance and cloud costs.
- Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines, automate deployments and contribute to architecture decisions.
- Leverage AI‑assisted development tools to increase productivity and software quality.
- Mentor other engineers and promote engineering best practices across the team.
Required profile
- Proven experience as a senior backend engineer delivering production‑grade services.
- Strong collaboration skills with product, data and technology teams.
