Senior Azure Integration Engineer

About the role

We are looking for a Senior Azure Integration Engineer to join a large enterprise in Auckland on a 6‑month contract. The role focuses on building high‑performance APIs, asynchronous connectivity, and supporting end‑to‑end testing for critical business systems.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, deploy and maintain core integration APIs using Azure API Management.
• Implement Azure Functions, Logic Apps and Service Bus for high‑throughput asynchronous messaging.
• Connect modern Azure services to legacy databases, case management systems and customer portals.
• Create and maintain operational dashboards to monitor API health and performance.
• Provide hyper‑care and Early Life Support for the Azure APIM environment after go‑live.
• Collaborate with QA teams to troubleshoot and resolve validation defects during test cycles.

Required profile

• Extensive hands‑on experience with Azure API Management, Functions, Logic Apps and Service Bus.
• Proven track record of architecting secure APIs and asynchronous messaging patterns.
• Experience integrating Azure solutions with complex legacy enterprise back‑ends.
• Familiarity with New Zealand large‑enterprise or public‑sector security frameworks.
• Valid work visa for New Zealand and prior sector experience.
