Senior Audit Associate – Hamilton

About the role

PwC New Zealand is seeking an experienced auditor to join its Assurance team in Hamilton as a Senior Associate. You will deliver high‑quality external audits from planning through to completion for a diverse portfolio of public and private organisations.

Key responsibilities

• Lead key areas of external audit engagements and manage delivery from planning to finalisation.
• Work directly with clients to understand their businesses, risks, processes and financial information.
• Apply sound judgement to complex or unfamiliar issues and propose practical solutions.
• Review internal controls, financial data and audit evidence in line with PwC methodology and applicable standards.
• Coach and review the work of graduates and junior team members.
• Collaborate with managers, directors and specialists across PwC to achieve optimal outcomes.
• Utilise technology and AI‑enabled audit tools to enhance quality, analysis and efficiency.
• Spend time on‑site with clients and work from the Hamilton office or home as appropriate.

Required profile

• Qualified auditor with several years of external audit experience.
• Strong commercial understanding and ability to exercise professional judgement.
• Proven capability to lead engagements and manage client relationships.
• Experience coaching junior staff and reviewing their work.
• Willingness to work collaboratively across a multidisciplinary team.
