Senior Analyst / Manager – Corporate Finance Deals

About the role

PwC New Zealand is the leading M&A advisor in the market, offering a fully integrated deals capability across corporate finance, infrastructure, debt advisory, property and transaction services. We are seeking a Senior Analyst (Associate equivalent) or Manager to join our Corporate Finance (Deals) team in Wellington. The role provides hands‑on exposure to live buy‑side and sell‑side transactions, close access to partners and a clear pathway toward manager‑level responsibility.

Key responsibilities

• Support buy‑side and sell‑side M&A transactions, including analysis, due diligence and execution activities.
• Build, review and own financial models and business valuations (DCF, comparables, scenario analysis).
• Prepare high‑quality client deliverables such as information memoranda, investment papers, valuation reports and board presentations.
• Analyse financial performance, growth drivers, risks and value‑creation opportunities to inform pricing and negotiation strategy.
• Manage transaction execution tasks, including data‑room administration and coordination with other advisors.
• Collaborate closely with partners, directors, managers and analysts to deliver commercially robust advice.

Required profile

• Tertiary qualification in Finance, Accounting, Commerce or a related discipline.
• 3–7 years of experience in corporate finance, investment banking, transaction advisory, corporate development or financial markets (Big 4 experience preferred).

Required skills

• Advanced Excel proficiency for financial modelling and valuation work.
