Senior Advisory Accountant – Part time & Project work!

About the role

This part‑time senior advisory accountant position offers 30+ hours per week with the flexibility to shape your schedule around personal priorities. You will manage a portfolio of clients, preparing financial statements in line with IFRS and IPSAS standards, while building trusted relationships. The role can evolve into full‑time through a variety of project work.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and review financial accounts according to IFRS and IPSAS frameworks.
• Own a client portfolio and deliver high‑quality advisory services.
• Collaborate closely with directors and a supportive team.
• Manage time and workload independently to meet client deadlines.
• Identify opportunities for additional project work and potential full‑time engagement.

Required profile

• Proven ability to take ownership of work and build trusted client relationships.
• Current experience with IFRS and/or IPSAS reporting.
• Strong curiosity for technical standards and detail‑oriented mindset.
• Background in financial reporting within a commercial finance team, either in New Zealand or overseas.
• Commitment to delivering high‑quality, professional output.
• Effective self‑management and time‑keeping skills.
