About the role
We are partnering with a respected Taupō accounting practice to find a Senior Accountant who will manage a diverse client portfolio. This hands‑on position blends compliance, reporting and tax work with forward‑thinking advisory support, helping clients make informed financial decisions.
Key responsibilities
- Prepare annual financial statements and manage income tax returns, tax planning and provisional tax estimates.
- File GST returns, maintain accurate records and adhere to agreed time and cost budgets.
- Produce management reports, budgeting, cash‑flow modelling and three‑way forecasting for clients.
- Conduct performance monitoring, financial analysis, benchmarking and identify business improvement opportunities.
- Mentor junior staff, support workflow planning and collaborate with partners to meet delivery targets.
Required profile
- Proven senior‑level accounting experience within a public practice environment.
- Strong commercial mindset with the ability to interpret numbers and provide actionable insights.
- Excellent communication skills and a proactive, client‑first attitude.
- Comfortable working in a collaborative, flat‑structure team.
Required skills
- Hands‑on experience with Xero accounting software.
