Science Teacher – Secondary (NCEA & Cambridge)

About the role

We are seeking a qualified Science Teacher to deliver the secondary science curriculum (NCEA Levels 1‑3 and Cambridge IGCSE) to students aged 13‑18 at Epsom Girls Grammar School in Auckland. You will work in state‑of‑the‑art laboratories and contribute to a vibrant co‑curricular programme.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and deliver lessons across Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Earth & Space and Junior Science.
• Prepare students for NCEA qualifications and Cambridge IGCSE examinations.
• Utilise specialist science laboratories and equipment to support hands‑on learning.
• Collaborate with the Learning Area Director and department heads to enhance the science programme.
• Participate in and support co‑curricular activities such as sports, arts, cultural and charity events.

Required profile

• Qualified classroom teacher currently teaching 13‑18 year‑old students.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to build strong relationships with students, colleagues and the wider school community.
• Team player with a collaborative mindset and a commitment to continuous improvement.
• NZ Teacher Registration or the ability to obtain it.
• Availability for an interview in London (8/9 July) or Manchester (11/12 July).
